These well made lifter blocks are a sensible replacement for worn out OEM originals. Available in chrome or black, they come with new allen head bolts in both 1/4-20 and 1/4-24 to fit all year groups. They also fit '53-'65 Panheads.
There are a number of ways of converting the Shovelhead lifters to solids, in order to get away from the troublesome OEM hydraulics. This kit, in our experience, is the best way to do it. Most solid lifter conversions are designed to either use the OEM pushrods, or use fairly short pushrods in order to be able to remove the pushrods without removing the heads and rocker boxes. The disadvantage of this, however, is the angularity of the pushrods as the cams lift the valves, which is exasperated with higher lifts.
This intelligent design uses short, hardened steel buttons that install into the followers, and longer, slimmer, chrome-moly adjustable pushrods. The engineering advantage is a very quiet valve train with reduced side loads, and no pushrod tube rubbing, even with high lift cams such as the S&S 514.
Please note that the rocker boxes must be removed for installation, or cylinder head removal if installed in the chassis.
